Honoring Independent and future Storytellers

Description of the Program

The Exhibiting Artist Program's main focus is to support, cultivate and empower new independent and future storytellers with an artist exhibitor opportunity at conferences, art galleries and other events around the world.


We are looking for artists with a passion for visual storytelling in animation who have never had the opportunity to exhibit.  All voices , ethnicities and talent are welcome, ages 18 and up.  The CTN Foundation Scholarship Program is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization that is talent-driven, and awards based on portfolio submissions.

Award

Exhibiting Artist Award is awarded for the conference, CTNX 2022.  November 17th - 20th, 2022. 

  • 1 exhibition Standard Table  6’ x 3’ , 2 chairs
  • 1 Plasma Screen
  • Featured in the online catalog
  • Two 4-day passes to CTN eXpo 2022 is included
  • One parking spot for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday is included

Eligibility

  • You will need a Portfolio or Reel.  One or the other. Both are not required.
  • A Resume is Required.
  • You do not need to be a graduate of or enrolled in a university or scholastic program.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Never exhibited before at a convention or festival.
  • A driving passion to be in the animation, visual storytelling, and filmmaking industries.
  • You will need to speak and read English.

Submission Specifications

We recommend taking your time to show your best work. Quality over quantity!


Your portfolio should show your best work! Please organize your work to highlight your passion for visual storytelling.


Resume Submission Specifications: Applicants will submit a PDF.


Portfolio Submission Specifications: Applicants will submit:

  • 5 - 12 Images
  • All image files must be .jpg, .jpeg, or .pdf in the RGB color space.
  • The image file can be no larger than 1240 x 1240 pixels.
  • The file names for your images submitted should be in the following format:
  • Name_#.filetype (For example:  MickeyMouse_01.jpeg)
  • File names should not contain any other characters, other than a-z, A-Z, and 0-9, and shouldn’t have any blank spaces.


Reel Specifications:

  • 2-3 minutes long, highlighting your best work.
  • Submit a link to your reel either on YouTube or Vimeo.
  • Reel Description: If your work includes a password, please remember to include this password in your reel description.

Evaluation and Review

Your work will be evaluated by judges who are veteran or current working professionals in the animation industry on the below criteria.

  • Creativity
    • The idea/concept.
  • Storytelling
    • Is the story readable. Is it clear.
  • Technique
    • The skill and handling of the medium you are working in.
  • Style
    • Design.
  • Originality
    • Your voice. Your signature.

Rules

It is our hope that by that point, conditions will permit in-person public gatherings of this kind. As details are still being finalized, related information will be forthcoming. If this award is unable to be fulfilled in person it will be pushed to 2022.
